Epic Day

I met my hero yesterday. His name's Cody. He's the man. He played guitar in a band called As Cities Burn. They broke up, but he's still truckin.

There's just no way to some up seeing someone that you idolize. He was playing a show in a coffeeshop in Spokane. This guy normally sells out biiig places. Big to me is 1,000-2,500. That's pretty solid. There were about 25 people in the coffeehouse.

He played 8 songs. They were all off of the newest album of his old band. Right after it was released the band broke up, so they never saw the light of day. It was just a man and a guitar. No flashy lights. No big sound system. He played through a Peavey combo amp that was a 1x8. That's it.

Here's the set list-

Errand Rum.
Made Too Pretty.

Into the Sea.
Pirate Blues.

84 Sheepdog.
Daughter.

Lady Blue.

Everything was done two songs at a time except the last song. So good. So. So good.
When he was done playing I went and talked to him. This time I actually spoke. (Sometimes when I meet cool people I just kinda mumble and walk away. I get pretty sheepish.) I had a nice little conversation with him. He was just a normal dude. Super friendly. But just a dude.

And he was the man. Pumped that I met him.

It was an epic day.
