Hi, my name is Joseph Hollis McDonald, the leading competitor who has remained silent in this compitition that I'm dominating.
Alot has been said about how Jesse and Josh plan to win by using GameFly and that I may be handicapped because I dont have it. But heres how I plan to win.
Its called the Trade-Up system at Gamestop, First you start off going to Gamestop and buying a pre-owned game for $20, then you take it home siphon it for all its delicious achievements then return it before a week to get your full refund back. AND if you have a Gamestop rewards card (Which I have, and Jesse doesnt) You get a a couple dollars of Gamestop credit added on for doing your business there. So then you buy a $22 game and next week a $25 game (you can also throw down some of your own money if this process is to slow) and soon youll be dominating the Achievement battle like I am.
This process will put you through playing some pretty disgusting games (read more below) but its well worth it. Heres my first step on this process.
Week 1: Risen
Risen is a mid-evil RPG, where you play a hero who has to chose a side in a civil war between mages and Warriors.
Sounds pretty awesome right? Heres my experience.
1 minute in:
An opening cutscene introduces the hero on a slave ship that shipwrecks on an island killing everyone except for the crew and his love interest (typical)
3 minutes in:
I'm given control finally and I instantly start looting everything, Potions, food, and a Club.
3.5 minutes in:
I talk to the love interest who magically washed up to shore next to me, she tells me to try and look around for items to use.
4 minutes in:
I stand around looking at the baron landscape I just pillaged.
5 minutes in:
I restart the conversation, she tells me to look for help and I tell her to wait by the sea until I return (I never see her again)
1 hour in:
After running around the wilderness for awhile I stumble onto a mercenary camp. looking for food and shelter. I try to befriend someone in the camp.
1 hour 1 minute in:
Everyone is a jerk.
hour and a half in:
I finally find a bed and sleep in it.
1 hour 45 minutes in:
Turns out the bed belonged to someone else, he kills me (but in this game you dont die, when your hp reaches 0, your opponent stands over your body, takes your equipped weapon, and loots your body) and after he leaves you can stand up again.
3 hours in:
after getting mugged and robbed dozens of times I decide to join the monestary (the other team in the war) as a peaceful monk-mage. how did I get in? one of the monks finding me and beating me and dragging me to the monestary.
3.5 hours in:
Finally a trusted member of the monestary im sent to a local town to defend it from mercenaries.
5 hours in:
Everyone in this town is stronger than me. upon entering I'm mugged and my staff is taken away from me.
5.5 hours in:
Not enough money for an inn, I sleep on the streets. I'm a beaten man.
6 hours in:
This game sucks.
7 hours in:
I got 110 Acheivement points, thats all I can take. I put in Reach
So after the painful game of risen I take it back and get Alpha Protocol, a game of mixed reviews from obsidian entertainment. its Espionoge RPG time. More on that in a week. Also I got Oblivion again.
Josh, Jesse. Resistance is futile.
